Biography

Over the last few years the young Swiss Soprano Sarah Pagin has developed an acclaimed reputation for her work as a lyrics soprano in both the opera houses and recital halls across Europe.

Born in to a highly musical family, Sarah completed her formative education and training at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique in Geneva and has since developed an ongoing and close relationship with teacher Magali Schwartz.

In recent seasons performance highlights have included consecutive appearances at the Radio France Festival, Mozart arias conducted by Eliahou Inbal in Florence’s Teatro Verdi, Grieg’s Peer Gynt and Beethoven’s Egmont conducted by Yoel Levi at the Salle Pleyel in Paris and Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang at the Victoria Hall in Geneva.

Sarah has been a frequent guest artist with the Orchestre National de Montpellier Languedoc Roussillon in both an operatic and concert and in the Opéra de Lausanne setting with repertoire that included “Gontran” in Chabrier’s “Education manquée”, the worldwide première of Gérard Calvi’s “La Cantatrice Chauve”, and Aspasie in Henri Christiné’s “Phi-Phi”, where Sarah’s performance was hailed as “remarkable in vocal and stage presence”.

Sarah’s wide repertoire includes an active interest in contemporary and 20th Century music and has seen her perform works by Frank Martin, Kurt Weill, Claude Debussy, Francis Poulenc, Gérard Calvi and Benjamin Ellin. Most recently, Sarah performed with Cédric Pescia at the TKM in Lausanne for a Satie recital.
